Getting there
From AIBD: 47 km, 45 min to 1 h 15 on the toll motorway (3,000 CFA), 20-30 min more between 5 and 8 pm; official taxi 25,000-30,000 CFA. This is where the BRT ends (Petersen terminus) and where the TER arrives from Diamniadio, which makes it the easiest district in the city to reach without a car. Everything here is walkable: Place de l'Indépendance, Kermel, Sandaga and the Gorée jetty all fit inside a one-kilometre square. Parking, on the other hand, is a competitive sport between 9 and 5 on weekdays.

- Le pont Faidherbe à dix-huit heures trente, du côté aval. Tout le monde s'y arrête et personne ne l'avoue.

- Recevoir quelqu'un comme si sa mère allait passer vérifier. Draps propres, eau fraîche, et on demande des nouvelles avant de parler d'argent.

- Traversez à Guet Ndar tôt le matin quand les pirogues rentrent, puis revenez déjeuner sur l'île. Et gardez une journée pour le Djoudj entre décembre et mars.
